Our Independence Story
Iconnectu celebrates 9 years in business this July 4th 2017.
This journey has been long and arduous. We should have given up a thousand time. By the Grace of God we have finally achieved our goals and are on our way to growing Iconnectu as fast and as large as He wants us to be.
When I say, “By the Grace of God” I mean something very specific. First, he gave me a book, “A Hole In Our Gospel” by Richard Stearns in 2008 that brought me to my knees to ask, “What can I do to change the world?” Next, He gave me a loving husband that allowed me to leave corporate America making 6 figures a year to pursue the crazy dream of bringing 1,000 kids out of extreme poverty while inspiring businesses to Grow, Grip and Give Back. Finally, my sweet daughter Natalie has been a part of all the business ventures I have done – but this one, Iconnectu, will be hers someday and she is as much a part of it as I am. So, I know all good gifts come from Our Father, and He gave me these to get to this point.
I registered the business on July 4th, 2009 with the idea I could do more than sell payroll to help the small businesses in my community. The idea was to connect them to each other, resources they needed, and more business and they in turn would pay us a “commission” based upon the value we brought. The Accountants thought we were nuts – but it worked! Who wouldn’t want better solutions, faster results, and more business? We let them choose what it was worth to them and we grew quickly as a result.
Fast forward to 2012 and we had outgrown the local community of Sarasota, Florida. We began connecting people across the state of Florida and by 2014 we had our footprint across the entire US. Business owners, Business Development Professionals, and Marketers were using Iconnectu to get what they needed when they needed it. They relied on our expertise and “grass roots” method of relationship building and ICUGrow was in full force. We saw growth as high as 78% year of year for some of our clients – AWESOME!
By performing the ICUGrow model on our own business – Iconnectu – we stayed in touch with our contacts in a sincere and genuinely caring manner. The phone rang in January of 2016 and the voice said, “We want to work with you but don’t know how you can help.” A month later we were doing Customer Experience Follow Up Calls to their esteemed customers and ICUCare was born. We now have Call Reps across the US as far west as Hawaii that make 100’s of gratitude based calls a day giving our clients The TRUTH as their customers see it giving them clear vision. It’s incredible.
For every new ICUCare client we bring on we sponsor a child, on their behalf, through World Vision. This is the organization Richard Stearns (author of the book that began it all) leads that has the expertise to change the world and make the greatest impact following Godly principles so important to us. We have a Trust Fund called Iconnectu2Life and we trust World Vision to take our $1 and stretch it to help as many people as they can in the villages where “our babies” live. We have 7 kids from Mali, Swaziland, Columbia, Haiti, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and Albania. Our goal is to have 1,000 we care for by 2050.
So, this Independence Day will mean a little more than the last. It means freedom from the greedy, brutal Fortune 50 firms we served previous to beginning Iconnectu. It means love and peace each day as we truly “change the world one call at a time”. It means we can inspire those we work with to make a difference every day. It means we are on our way to Building Better Businesses for the Greater Good. ICUGive, our next initiative will launch in 2020. We will show companies how to give back better and how they too can change the world. May God Bless America on this birthday and God Bless Iconnectu too!
